The Challenge: Own the Design
We're looking for a hands-on professional with 5–6 years of solid design-build or consultant experience who can own the mechanical design process from the first concept sketch to the final IFC (Issued for Construction) drawing.
Your expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, and Firefighting systems must be top-tier. You’ll be the person crunching the numbers—from heat load calculations to pump head analysis—and ensuring every design detail rigorously complies with QCDD, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards. If you speak the language of AutoCAD, HAP, and Elite, and have deep knowledge of local codes (QCDD, Kahramaa, Ashghal), we want to hear from you.

The Mandate: Ownership from Concept to Commissioning
This is far beyond a standard drafting role. In this high-stakes position, you will act as the design process owner, managing the project life-cycle from the initial concept and feasibility studies right through to the final IFC (Issued for Construction) documentation.
Your core expertise will be concentrated on the three vital lifelines of any modern building:
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning): Designing intricate systems that ensure optimal cooling and air quality in Qatar’s demanding climate.
Plumbing Systems: Developing reliable solutions for water supply, drainage, and wastewater management.
Firefighting Systems: Engineering state-of-the-art fire protection and safety mechanisms that safeguard lives and assets.
We are specifically looking for a professional with 5–6 years of solid, hands-on design experience who possesses the decisive judgment required to deliver projects end-to-end.
The Technical Challenges and Deliverables:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve performing precise Engineering Calculations that form the foundation of our designs:
Heat Load Calculations: Accurately determining the necessary HVAC capacity to meet the building's specific thermal needs.
Pressure Drop Calculations: Analysing energy loss within piping and ductwork systems to ensure maximum efficiency.
Pump Head Calculations: Sizing pumps correctly for water and fire suppression systems to guarantee performance and compliance.
Based on these critical calculations, you will prepare comprehensive technical drawings, detailed reports, and submittal documents (Technical Drawings, Reports & Submittals). Crucially, your designs must adhere strictly to rigorous international and local standards, including: QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department), NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), and ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers).
Your Essential Toolkit (What You Need to Succeed):
Success in this highly technical environment requires a specific set of qualifications and proficiencies:
Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution is mandatory.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 to 6 years of robust MEP design experience, preferably gained within a Consultancy or Design-Build firm.
Software Mastery: Non-negotiable proficiency in industry-standard software like AutoCAD, HAP (Hourly Analysis Program), and Elite is required for analysis and documentation.
Local Code Expertise: An in-depth understanding of local Qatari codes and authorities, including QCDD, Kahramaa (Electricity and Water), and Ashghal (Public Works Authority).
