Milaha, a leading maritime and logistics company in Qatar, is currently looking for a talented Accountant (Contract Basis) to join their Finance & Logistics team. This position is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in the finance and accounting field.
Main responsibilities
Cash Management:
Accurately recording and accounting for daily cash transactions, receipts, and expenses related to citizenship.
Loans & Bank Transactions:
Properly manage the company's credit schedules, interest calculation, repayment and closing processes of bank loans.
Month-End Closing:
Preparation of month-end financial closings, reviews and income-expenditure audit activities.
Intercompany Transactions:
Recording transactions between multiple departments and ensuring proper recording in accounting software such as AGIS, Oracle GL.
Reconciliation & Reporting:
Reconciling bill and bank accounts, preparing monthly accounts, creating management reports and financial estimates.
Compliance & Governance: Following the company's financial regulations, collaborating with internal audit and external audit teams.
HSEQ Compliance: Working in compliance with Milaha's health, safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications
Education: Degree in accounting, finance, or economics required.
Professional Certifications: Certifications like CA, ACCA, CIMA are an added advantage
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in finance or logistics accounting. Experience in shipping, maritime or transportation industry is preferred.
Skills:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP software. Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an added advantage). Knowledge of IFRS regulations and modern financial methods.
